Background
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, Great Eastern Life Malaysia faced a unique challenge. With an urgent need to align its employees on company updates, goals, and strategic directions, they decided to hold a virtual townhall. This townhall was designed as a crucial touchpoint for the CEO and directors to directly address employees, communicating the company’s progress and future vision.
Challenge: Conducting a seamless, impactful virtual townhall that not only delivered key messages but also actively engaged a large workforce, overcoming the limitations of remote interactions.
Mikreate was honored to step up as a strategic partner for this event, creating an innovative and professional virtual experience at a time when very few companies in Malaysia were exploring such solutions.

Approach
For this event, we developed a comprehensive virtual production strategy that prioritized clarity, engagement, and smooth content delivery. Our approach included:
– Full virtual production team setup. We brought together a skilled production crew, including a live event producer, camera operators, virtual stage designer, switcher, and sound engineer, to ensure a smooth virtual broadcast.
– Collaborative content development. Mikreate worked closely with Great Eastern’s Human Capital department to align on content, address structure, and format. Together, we curated topics, refined the flow of the townhall, and produced content to be both informative and visually engaging.
– Pre-produced video segments. Understanding the value of a polished, distraction-free presentation, we created several pre-produced video segments for the CEO and directors’ speeches, as well as key company updates. These videos, produced before the event, were designed to maintain a cohesive and engaging narrative throughout the townhall.
– Live streaming and virtual stage design. On event day, our production team managed the live stream with precision, balancing real-time camera work, seamless transitions, and sharp sound engineering. Our virtual stage provided a professional and branded backdrop that amplified the overall visual appeal.
