Case Study: Virtual Employee Engagement Event with Maybank

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mikreate partnered with Maybank to transform one of its largest employee engagement events into an immersive virtual experience. With a broadcast studio setup in Maybank Johor, the event was meticulously planned and executed to engage employees in an interactive, high-quality virtual environment.
Objectives
The goal was to create a fully virtual, studio-based event that replicated the excitement and interaction of a live gathering. Mikreate also aimed to develop customized creative materials to enhance the virtual experience, manage all aspects of event planning and logistics, and ensure seamless production for Maybank employees.
Deliverables
- Broadcast System & Equipment
Mikreate equipped the studio with complete lighting and camera setups. This included two view cameras, a sound engineer, camera operators, and a Multi-Camera Production (MCP) Director overseeing the live feed. Prompt TV and Playback TV were also incorporated to ensure smooth content delivery. - Event Management & Planning
Mikreate oversaw the entire event management process, coordinating all production elements with the Maybank team. A floor manager, producer, and runner were assigned to handle logistics, ensuring everything ran smoothly from start to finish. - Creative Material Development
Custom creative elements were developed, including animations for the logos, an e-backdrop, 3D stage design, and a masthead frame with both GE and event logos. Additionally, lower-third graphics were created for speaker introductions. - Pre-Production Content
Mikreate created a 60-second montage to open the event, setting an engaging tone. A 6-minute video was also edited for the event, maintaining a polished flow throughout the virtual program.
Challenges
Transforming a large in-person event into a fully virtual experience presented several challenges. It required innovative solutions for set design, content creation, and technical coordination. The team worked tirelessly, conducting numerous tests to ensure seamless integration and high production quality.
